Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance, and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. – Philippians 4:11-13
2020 has been a year of living by faith. We at Outreach Canada are so grateful for the enduring love, encouragement, support, and prayers we receive from our partners in ministry. We have had times of discouragement, but the Lord has sustained us through a challenging year, and His ministry is growing.
When COVID first impacted us in March, we were uncertain of how it would affect our team and our ministry. We were considering new applicants but didn’t know how we could add new people while also laying off and reducing others’ hours. We have had to make some significant adjustments, but God has not stopped our growth. Last week I did an orientation webinar for our new team members. All six of these individuals are new to our team this year, and we praise the Lord for them.
Alfred Chui – Alfred lives in Richmond and serves as Chinese Language Coordinator for our Simply Mobilizing courses.
Ben Reed – Ben joins us from Edmonton and works with Missionary Member Care. He has been the leader of our Wilderness ReBoot program for missionary kids.
Doris Meers – Doris is from Delta, and she just started last week as our new Income and Partner Care Administrator. Doris will be looking after all of our donors and donations to OC.
Mark and Ruth Boughan – Mark and Ruth live in Cambridge, ON, and are recently retired educators. Mark is the former president of Emmanuel Bible College. They are serving in the area of member care as “finishers.” This is a new category of team-member for us as we have a growing number of retired individuals interested in serving with OC.
Virginia Ramunda – Originally from Argentina, Virginia now lives in BC, and she brings a passion for Jesus and excellent IT skills to our team.
We have several others who have also worked with us as volunteers or on contracts this year, and we are so grateful that the Lord continues to expand His ministry through Outreach Canada.
As we near the end of the year, we always request and anticipate special year-end donations that bolster us for the new year. Many Christian charities are concerned that year-end giving will be lower than in previous years because of the pandemic, but we trust that God will supply all of our needs (Phil. 4:19). We invite you to prayerfully consider a special gift to OC as we near the end of a challenging year.
While we are naturally concerned about our own financial needs, we are also championing some other significant ministry needs at this time. Next week we will be launching two special fundraising campaigns on social media. God has led us to two projects that require financial support. I want to invite you to consider our Outreach Canada Give 25 Campaign. $25 can change a life. It can feed a family in India for a week, providing FREEDOM from hunger, oppression, or prostitution. It can also provide ACCESS to the gospel, on the other side of the world or across the street in our own neighbourhoods. Please check out our website and see how we are reaching out to provide love, hope, freedom, and the gospel to families in India and Muslim families here in Canada.
We are excited about 2021. We are discussing partnering with another team to launch a massive gospel presentation to Canadians through social media. A brief test this summer saw over 2,000 Canadians respond to the gospel! Please pray with us as we consider this amazing opportunity. We will keep you posted.
Thank you again for your support; we could not do this without you.
In His grip,
Dr. Craig Kraft
