True or False
It's time for another round of True or False where we feature an Outreach Canada Team Member and share:
- 2 True Statements
- 1 False Statement
Can you guess which are true and which is false?
Bill Wong
It’s Bill Wong, a member of our OC family, & one of our Chaplains! Here are 3 statements from Bill…2 are true, 1 is false. Can you guess which is false?
- When I was in Grade 7, I made money by delivering drugs for a drug dealer.
- I drove across Canada in my 1966 Dodge Valiant right after graduating from university.
- I visited an underground coal mine in Lota, Chile that went down 500 metres and 10 kilometres out under the Pacific Ocean.
Can you guess which is false? Scroll below the photo for correct answers!
Photo : One of the places Bill works as a Chaplain is the Port of Vancouver. One day, he went onboard a cargo ship at the Port of Vancouver hoping to share the gospel with any seamen who were available. Bill (in the middle) met these two fellows in the galley and found out both were Christians. They had a great time sharing and encouraging each other!

Here are Bill's Statements:

TRUE – I spent the summer after Grade 7 working as the delivery boy for a pharmacy – picking up light supplies, delivering prescription drugs to the elderlies and shut-ins, and general cleaning around the drugstore. I made a dollar a day, which was a lot of money for me at that time.
- I drove across Canada in my 1966 Dodge Valiant right after graduating from university.
FALSE – After graduating from UBC back in 1972, I decided to drive across Canada in my 1966 Dodge Valiant. I only made it to Saskatoon and decided to head back home.
- I visited an underground coal mine in Lota, Chile that went down 500 metres and 10 kilometres out under the Pacific Ocean
TRUE - When I was in Lota, Chile working as an engineer on a port project, I was asked if I wanted a tour of an operating underground coal mine located near the port. I thought it would be interesting, so I went. I had to take an elevator 500 metres down the shaft and then ride a small railway car (used for hauling the coal) about 10 kilometres out under the Pacific Ocean. Kind of scary when I thought about it later – the whole Pacific Ocean was only 500 metres above me.
