Often when we think of pre-field training or debriefing we think just of how to prepare adult Cross-Cultural Workers for life overseas or for transitioning well back into Canadian culture.
However, there is an important group that also needs preparation for transition: their "kids" or, Missionaries' Kids (MKs) also known as Third-Culture Kids (TCKs).
If their children are struggling to adapt or have issues with education, and aren't prepared for the big differences, transitions, and good-byes they will face, then the parents will also struggle and are much more likely to come off the field much earlier than anticipated.
