Don Klaassen

Don serves as an Outreach Canada Ambassador, helping churches engage meaningfully with the diverse communities around them. Throughout his ministry, he has focused on building bridges with South Asian and Indigenous communities. He currently leads an initiative that mobilizes volunteers to serve the approximately 2,500 people incarcerated in southwestern British Columbia.

With a wide range of ministry experience, Don has served as a pastor, mission agency mobilizer, intercultural trainer, film director, and leader of mission teams. He holds an MA in Communications from Wheaton Graduate School and an undergraduate degree from Briercrest Bible College. Together, Don and his wife have raised three birth daughters and, through more than 30 years of fostering teenagers, have welcomed many others into their extended family.

Don is passionate about helping Christians discover and fulfill their calling while developing a vision for the people around them. Seeing lives changed through the love, care, and presence of volunteers—particularly among those who are incarcerated—continues to inspire him to encourage others to get involved.

Outside of ministry, Don enjoys renovation projects for family members, fixing machinery, and hanging out with his grandchildren.
